Our Dear Murali

Murali Padaki of Austin passed away on August 24th, 2007. Murali was born in Bangalore, India. He completed his Bachelors in Engineering from BMS College Bangalore, India in 1987 and Masters in Engineering from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA in 1992. Since 1993, he had been working at Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

He is survived by his loving wife Chandrika, daughter Saanvi, father, four brothers and a sister. Through out his life, he brought smile and joy to many folks who will remember him for his endearing qualities.

As much fun loving a guy he was, the best quality in him was his compassion towards the less fortunate. He donated both time and money to various causes. The most memorable of his actions were when he opened his house to fifteen visually impaired artists from Samarthanam (samarthanam.org) who came to Austin from Bangalore to give music and dance performance.

As one of the most popular person in the Austin social cirlces, he has been a very active member of the Austin Kannada Sangha (AKS) since its inception. He served the AKS committee during the year 2001. He was also the star attraction at many of the AKS dramas over the years.
